EPURON sells triple-digit Euro wind-power portfolio to HypoVereinsbank
- Company continues its 2006 financing strategy for wind power projects
- Wind farms with an investment volume of 107 million Euros are financed by Breeze Three transaction
Hamburg, May 04, 2007: EPURON GmbH will once again introduce a wind farm portfolio through a Breeze transaction from HypoVereinsbank. The 107 million Euro portfolio will, for the third time, be an integral part of the Breeze wind farm bond issued by HVB. All in all, five turnkey wind power projects with a total power output of 76.4 megawatts (MW) were handed over. The EPURON-developed farms are located in Germany (68.4 MW) and France (8 MW). The wind power stations were produced by Vestas, REpower, Nordex and Siemens and are notable for their high quality and reliability. Technical and commercial management of the wind farms will be provided by Conergy Services GmbH. Construction at all locations will be completed throughout the course of the year. Stations producing 58 MW of electrical power are already on stream. The installations will generate over 150 million kilowatt hours of annual electrical power. This would be sufficient enough to meet all the power needs of a city with a population of 150,000.
In 2006, EPURON successfully used Breeze as a financing option for its wind power projects. "The interest of institutional investors in wind power projects is continuing to grow. Large portfolios are especially popular because they provide excellent risk diversification; and as a result, we will continue to offer attractive packages in this sector,” explained Joachim Müller, CEO of EPURON responsible for finance. “Investors attach great importance to the diversification of a portfolio. The increasing internationalisation of our projects meets this demand“, Müller added.
To date, EPURON has developed and financed wind power projects with a total power output of 235 megawatts. Last year, the company entered the international wind power market by launching projects in France and Italy. Wind projects with a combined power output of 600 megawatts are currently in the pipeline.
